The Merchant Navy Officers Pension Fund (MNOPF) has been awarded Best Multi-employer Pension Fund in Europe at last night’s highly prestigious Investment and Pensions Europe awards in Prague. This is the highest accolade MNOPF has ever achieved and is testament to the fantastic work by the Trustee Board, its advisers and its executive team Ensign over the past decade.
In addition to this coveted award the MNOPF also received the award for best diversification, further enhancing its reputation as one of Europe’s most innovative pension funds.
Speaking of the awards, MNOPF Chair, Rory Murphy said, "The MNOPF has always been innovative in the way it looks to secure the pension promise for its members. The progress on our Journey Plan to full funding, and this continued industry recognition shows that the MNOPF is setting the standard for pension schemes across Europe."
Andrew Waring, Chief Executive of the MNOPF, was thrilled to collect the award on behalf of the Fund, and said, “There have been some great moments on the MNOPF journey. The collective strength of the MNOPF team, past and present, has delivered MNOPF to this point and we should all feel very proud.”
"Our challenge now is to set that same high standard for the next generation of maritime employees with the maritime industry's DC Master Trust - the Ensign Retirement Plan."
